The Gili Trawangan Divemaster Program

Choosing a dive center for your divemaster course is a big deal. If you’re looking for one that is filled with energy and social life but will also be the best place to learn and absorb, then we’ve got you covered!

Some questions you may have could be below, I think they call them Frequently Asked Questions.

  • 18 years old
  • Be fit for scuba diving and have medical clearance to dive within the last 12 months
  • Minimum 40 logged dives
  • Certified Stress & Rescue Diver or equivalent & First AID/CPR 
  • **If you don’t have the right amount of dives or your Rescue & First Aid cert, we can design a package to get you there. Some people come to us as Open Water and work there way up!

How’s tomorrow sound? No but serious, any time you’d like to join, we will make space so it’s flexible based on your schedule. You can also split up the program if you want to travel for a bit and come back.

You will be at a PADI dive school and training center. There really isn’t any major difference between the agencies until you get to instructor level.

As much as you want really! You can expect to dive about 3 times a day when practicing guiding or assisting on courses. Some of that time will also be spent in the pool learning how to teach skills.

When you first start out you can borrow our equipment during your course but you’ll quickly see how much better it is to have your own gear. The only thing we do not supply is an SMB (inflatable floaty noodle) and a dive computer. It’s usually really good to have your own mask. With any of the gear, we can help connect to our partners in Indonesia for some good discounts.

You may need a separate package if you need more dives or any extra courses but the basic Divemaster Course comes with:

So first of all, you’ll be an awesome diver! With your certification you can decide to work in the diving industry anywhere in the world as a Dive Guide. Taking people out on guided dives and showing them awesome things underwater.

Two options: the regular tourist Visa which can be done online or at the airport. You can extend it once and then would have to fly out and return on a new visa (take a holiday from your holiday)

Second option is the B221A visa which is like a business visa. Gets you 60-days and can be extended for another 30 day 4 times. You can get this via a reputable agency that will sort it all out for you.

The absolute minimum you need is 4 weeks but people rarely do this version. You’re more likely to spend between 6-8 weeks and enjoy the course as a part of your new life on the tropical island.

Unfortunately not. Indonesia has very strict laws on internships or any kind of work that is not done via legal proper means.
